what's in a name

Now this is what I call blogenius!!
I want to know from you and for the sake of others what made you come up with the blog name you currently have?
Simple aint it?
Rules:
1. Tomas rules!!!
2. Try and be truthful.
3. Management of this log reserves right of comment approval(if I dont like ya story i might just chuck it)
4. I'm kidding about "3"
5. Refer back to "1"

I actually came up with my blog name easily... its a modification of my not so frequently used 1st name.

tihihi! blog names!heh,at first i wanted to be posh and do it in some other language. me and other languages...we're not tight like that, so clearly that plan was trashed.
then i thought...and thought...
sadly, in high school, i had some pals who called me mama shady! oh the nerve!me? shady?
si i decided to revise the meaning of the word! i'm simple, probably a bit backward...i still say things like tech!

I have always wanted to know how Guess came up with hers and also Aco...

But mine... It just came to me as I was typing out that registration info.... I would be lying if I said that I put much thought into it.

ziwani is translation of the lake or a large water body.I come from the lake shore, studied in costo next to the ocean, now live in newyork near the atlantic so all my life has been near large water bodies coincidentally.

@Movie buff and Tomas:

the following information will and cannot be used against me :(

Here goes: Think of a Guessing Thesaurus? What do you get: Guessaurus.

How did I come about it? - simple really!

I stole it from the Mocksford English Dictionary (an alternative to the Oxford English Dictionary (here in England there is a site that we are allowed to submit words that should be included in the Oxford English Dictionary, which evolves as the generations do)Cant find the site at the mo, but will link when I do) . GUESSAURUS (guess-saw-russ) Meaning: The walking dictionary in your vicinity, to whom you turn to for all your synonyms & antonyms. (You might not find it anymore in google cos damn, type Guessaurus and 10 pages down the line, I am still there. Sad really :(

In my current job, I am the resident geek (dont u dare use this against me) and being the most 'educated' person in the room, and the best in 'English' irrespective of the fact I live in 'England' I get to be consulted for all matters technical and grammatical, and even though I have no idea what the person wants, I wing it -be it linguistical and/or technological, and it saves us from calling the 'IT' guys and saves the whole department a whole houseful of blushes, which would make one 'Guess' quite uncomfortable - see, she being the only Black, and African person and we all know we dont respond very well to being 'belittled' for our 'stupidity' - are we on the same page?

Now you got it: can I go away and Kwess my lil self into what you already perceived me to be? (This already feels like a whole post in itself)

And I come in peace to ask kindly if I may consider you for my blog crush. Please?

Stumbled into your blog as I wandered around aimelessly in blogland. Interesting place.

Named my blog after a kind of fish found in the mangrove swamps of the Indian Ocean especially around Asia. The fish looks odd, with round eyes that protrude from its head sort of like a frog, and two pectoral fins that it uses to "walk" around- it spends most of its time out of the water, lounging on the limbs of the mangrove trees or lying around on the mudflats. It eats molluscs and crustaceans. It gets eaten by the dogface snake.

Mine's the nickname given by my parents when I was 3 yrs old. 90% of people close to me know me by this name. You can't claim to be my buddy if you don't know the right way to pronounce and write it.

Written entirely in underscore, It's my blog name, art brand name, attire brand name, my alter ego, my sweetie's name to call at will, introduction to strangers name

It's a short, corrupted form of my actual name.

Some of the answers are funny!!

Ok..mine was a nickname given to me by my uncles when I was young. They said it was to remind me of my roots. According to them I was found in a junkyard when I was just a little baby.

Back then I hated the name but in the same way that some black people have reclaimed the N-Word...I have reclaimed Mama JunkYard.
